Innovative Continuing Education for the Aviation Community
“Life-Long-Learning” is essential for most occupations due to new challenges and developments that are arising constantly.
Aviation's fascination and innovation is also a challenge for and to the competencies and skills of a pilot. The economic growth of the air transportation industry has intensified the need for better-educated personnel. Therefore a group of German high profile aviation professionals have founded The Aviation Academy to offer an educational source for aviation and related areas, such as tourism.
The lecturers include a number of aviation professionals with very extensive backgrounds in business, industry, government and virtually every aspect of aviation-related activities.
The Seminars will be held at the Conference Center of the German National Television ZDF, Mainz (close to Frankfurt Airport).
The original strategy for the creation of an Aviation-Academy was developed in the late 1990s by a group of concerned aviation specialists. The concept did not evolve in isolation. The events leading to its formation were related to the incidents gathered by the European Flight-Safety Information System EUCARE, which recognized high quality assistance for safety, economical and educational issues. Accordingly, steps were taken during the Berlin Air Show (ILA) 2004 that finally led to the establishment of The Aviation Academy.
In addition to the core team members, the Aviation Academy has moved to establish cooperative relationships with several other organizations that bring specific skills to aviation and aviation-related educational and consulting programs and projects.
